A Short and sweet coffee share

Hello and welcome! Try some coconut crêpe cake! It’s from this Thai restaurant nearby our house. One day I’ll practice to make my own.

I always pair my desserts with coffee or tea — no cream or sugar.

Speaking of food, I am hosting a monthly link party. Or is it blog potluck? It’s called “Eat Around the World.” On the first of each month I’ll introduce a theme. It could be either an ingredient, a dish, a tool used to cook food, or a technique. I’m inviting everyone to share a dish from their part of the world. It will start June 1st and the theme is “Wedding Cake and other Celebratory Treats.” You don’t need to be a home cook to participate. It’s my first time hosting this type of challenge so any feedback is appreciated. The deadline to submit will be June 30th.

This weekend is a long weekend. We are visiting some family in San Diego. Since restrictions are lifting up, I hope the drive is not too congested there.

Next weekend I’ll do my April and May overview of where I am with my 2021 goals and my past reads.

    1. Thank you, Ruth. Well you don’t need to be a cook to participate. I definitely did not make my own wedding cake. Actually, I don’t make many desserts but I am up for the challenge!

  1. That coconut crêpe cake looks delicious! I think your link party, Eat around the world, sounds like a lot of fun. I just so happen to be making a birthday cake for June 1 – vanilla cake with banana frosting and a strawberry jam filling.
Great coffee post, thanks for sharing.

  2. I laughed because when I saw that cake I thought “yes please”, then saw the dreaded word coconut….lol. and thought “never mind”. Your challenge sounds fun. I’ll have to check it out.

    1. Thank you for stopping by Kirstin. You’re not a coconut fan? For me, honestly, I don’t go out of my way getting coconut. I asked the people at the restaurant which flavor they recommend since I heard so many good things about their crepe cake and they recommended coconut.
