Kicking off the Holiday season

As soon as I see a posting for any light display event, I get excited because I know we are approaching the Holiday season. I always tell myself we have to go at least one at some point during the season.

The Arcadia Arboretum transforms its gardens into festive display of lights. This year’s theme was Lightscape. We went there two years ago when the holiday theme was Moonlight Forest (pre-COVID). They did not do a display the following year for obvious reasons. In fact, we did not go see any lights anywhere last year. When I saw that the Arboretum was doing a light display this year, I really wanted to go. I felt when places were doing light displays again, it was welcome back to normalcy.

The most interesting section was disco lights. In the day time it’s a jungle forest but for Lightscape, it’s a disco party. When you enter, you are greeted by the music of Daft Punk. It was different from other Holiday Light displays I’ve seen.

  1. I love the large flowers. They remind me of Indian paintbrush flowers. I’m with you! I am ready for the holidays and am putting finishing touches on my decorations and planning a holiday breakfast next week following our local Santa Hustle. Happy December. We made it. LOL.
