This metal sculpture looked so interesting that I decided to copy the pose. Julie tries to play with public art yet again.

Welcomed by warm light
I was hanging out in downtown LA with one of my friends who was visiting from the Bay Area. We were trying out different food at Grand Central Market and we decided to walk it off around the area. Without even trying to look for the Bradbury building, we opened the door and there was the iconic atrium recognizable in films such as Blade Runner (1982), The Artist, and (500) Days of Summer.
Unfortunately, we did not get to explore beyond the foyer.

Last February, we went on a multi-city trip around Europe. Who knew this was going to be the last time we’d travel like this for a while. Nowadays, we don’t even travel outside of the county to visit my in-laws. I tell myself we will travel again.
Oh yeah…I was pregnant and did not even know it at the time.
The weather in LA today looks and feels like the weather when we visited Saumur last year. Just as cold, just as gray.
Wordless Wednesday: Wonder
Joshua Tree teasers
Here are some photos from my phone. Me and my friends went to Joshua Tree over the weekend. It is worth the day trip if you live in Southern California. Stay tuned for a lovely time lapse night photo my husband produced. Right now here are some teasers. What is not pictured here are the high winds!
Frosé Lemonade
On Sunday, I did a fun twist on pink lemonade using sparkling lemonade from Trader Joe’s and a large cube of frozen rosé.
I bought this silicon ice cube and sphere tray set from Amazon and I am obsessed! I can’t wait experiment more with these in drinks and desserts. I warn you these cubes are HUGE! One cube of the rosé equates almost half a glass in volume. You may find yourself drinking more than your fair share of buzzy pink lemonade 😜.
Recommended occasions: BBQ parties and lazy, hot Sundays
Wasabi Flavored Ice Cream from Owl’s
Top flavor, Wasabi — It does taste like wasabi and it’s spicy. It did taste good when I had the sample, but the more I ate it, the less I liked it.
Bottom flavor, Honey Rosemary – This one was my favorite of the two. It was floral and pleasant.

Kiddos Creamery
Top flavor, Matcha – The best green tea flavor I’ve had in a while!
Bottom flavor, Mozarella – I thought there was going to be mozarella cheese in this ice cream. I was wrong. Some of these flavors are based off of Tokidoki characters like Mozarella and Latte. The mozarella flavor reminded me of stracciatella with chunkier chocolate pieces.

Yesterday was our last night at Seattle. To end it, we went to gastropub. I can’t believe since we’ve been to Seattle, we haven’t had a drink.
It was really late and there were not a lot of food options and my husband did not feel like driving into downtown Seattle for late night food so we found this gastropub nearby.

Beef and Chicken combo sandwich
I’ve been to Halal Guys a couple times for lunch. Between the plate and the sandwich, I prefer the sandwich.
Warning: The red hot sauce is tear-pooling spicy. Please use at your own risk.
